Through personal interviews, conversation with teenage boys, meeting with experts and considerable humor and self exposure, Edan Alterman sets out to examine how height affects men who are shorter than others. The film follows two short- statured boys who still dream of getting tall, and short- statured adults who have learned to live with a world that at times teases them but generally just blocks their view. Short is a personal, moving and entertaining documentary that will add a couple of inches to the ego of short people.

I could only have wished that someone would made a documentary about shorter than average people (5 foot 5, in my case) and answer the thousands of questions that tormented and frustrated me, but perhaps also made me who I am…" (Alterman)
About the director…
Edan Alterman is an actor and a comedian who has appeared in films, television and theater. His play Children Knit has enjoyed over 1000 productions. Alterman directed the comedy series Horns and the short film Promises must be Kept.
Short is Atlerman's documentary directorial debut.

Edan Alterman proves in this film that once you have something to make up for, you develop a personality much quicker. High school may have been a bitch but afterwards the short guys are the ones that rule. This “short” documentary is all heart and laughs. I just wished it would have been a bit longer. After 50 minutes I was left wanting more.
I might be tall but this movie managed to hit a personal note with me anyway. Edan Alterman is one of the funniest guys and he managed to find many short people to back him up. Even if they are small:) This movie is for anyone who can find something to laugh about himself. That can’t be too hard…
Like my mother always told me- expensive things come in small packages. Alterman proves that although poison isn’t so big either, it’s a pretty cool thing to be short. Actually, that doesn’t really surprise me. Every teenager who grew feeling like an outsider, ends up stronger and funnier in the real world. Just like Alterman and the talented (short) people who took part in this movie.
