Runtime: 52 Min.
The drama of Israel's reality is reflected in terror-attack-inflicted head and brain traumas, and the personal tragedies of those who wake up one day to find that something has happened to their "human computer". These stories flow into the Brain Surgery Department at the Rambam Medical Center, headed by prof. Menashe Zaaroor, a colorful, well-rooted, Tiberius born character, one of the top neurosurgeons in Israel and worldwide. A great human being, leading a staff of Jews and Arabs who have saved thousands of head-injury patients since the war in Lebanon.
For the first time, a camera crew is allowed to watch the neurosurgeons as they perform surgeries, following terror attacks and other traumatic episodes, culminating with the fight to save the life of five-year-old Hadar who was injured during the terror attack at "Maxim" restaurant in Haifa on the eve of Jewish most sacred holiday Yom Kippur - the day of atonement. For Dr. Zaaroor, it is a horrific coincidence, which reflects more then anything the evil and stupidity of humankind. "This is the absurdity of the reality in our region. Just yesterday I have treated two Palestinian who were injured in the west bank and today I deal with the results of atrocity accomplished by their own people" says Dr. Zaaroor.
Through this rapid paced film, we follow these heart touching stories while reflecting on the mysteries of the human brain with the assistance of Dr. Zaaroor's work.
